Erika Kirk, wife of slain conservative activist Charlie Kirk made her first public address since her husband's assassination on Friday evening

For the first time since the tragic loss of her husband, conservative commentator Charlie Kirk, Erika Kirk made an emotional public address on Friday evening, speaking directly to his supporters with both tears and determination.

Standing beside the chair her husband once used in his studio, Erika paused for a silent prayer before beginning her remarks just after 8:25 p.m. Online viewers described the moment as heartbreaking yet powerful.

Her voice trembled as she spoke:

“Charlie, I promise I will never let your legacy die, baby. I promise I’ll make Turning Point USA the biggest thing this nation has ever seen.”

A Widow’s Promise

Throughout her 15-minute speech, Erika repeatedly fought back tears, pausing to collect herself while expressing gratitude.

She thanked the staff and employees of Turning Point USA, saying they had lost not only a leader but also a mentor and a friend. “He loved what he did,” she said, emphasizing how much Charlie valued the people around him.

She also extended her appreciation to first responders and law enforcement for their efforts and bravery. “My heart is with everyone who tried to save Charles and protect others that day,” she said.

A photo of Charlie Kirk, displayed on her podium with the words “May he be received into the merciful arms of Jesus”, framed the moment in faith. Erika wore a cross necklace and quoted scripture, declaring: “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church.”

Remembering a Husband and Father

Erika reflected on Charlie’s values, describing him as a man who “loved life, loved his family, and loved America.” With a small smile through tears, she even recalled his favorite sports team, adding, “Go Ducks”—a phrase she said Charlie would want her to share.

But the most moving moment came when Erika spoke of their young daughter. She recounted how the little girl had asked, “Where’s daddy?” the night before. Erika responded softly: “Baby, daddy loves you so much. Don’t you worry. He’s on a work trip with Jesus.”

“Most of all, Charlie loved his children. And he loved me. With all his heart. He made sure I knew that every day,” Erika said, calling him a “perfect father.”

Turning Grief into Resolve

Even in her grief, Erika vowed that Charlie’s work would continue. She pledged that Turning Point USA’s mission and the planned campus tours would go forward stronger than ever.

“He never gave up. One of his mottos was ‘never surrender.’ So I want to tell you—we will never surrender,” she declared.

Her tone shifted from sorrow to determination: “In a world filled with chaos, doubt, and uncertainty, my husband’s voice will remain.”

Erika concluded by addressing Charlie directly: “I can’t wait to see you again one day.” She touched the empty chair beside her, a poignant reminder of his absence, and ended with a quiet prayer.

A Legacy That Lives On

Friday night’s address marked the beginning of a new chapter for Erika Kirk. What began in sorrow turned into a clear promise: Charlie Kirk’s message will not fade, and his family—led by his wife—will carry his legacy forward.
