During the May 12 broadcast, Whoopi experienced yet another eerie interruption, prompting a half-joking, half-serious suspicion that the place might actually be haunted. So what’s really going on at The View? Something strange is happening — and viewers are starting to take notice. In the words of Ghost star Whoopi herself, when it comes to these unexplained disturbances: “You in danger, girl.”

Whoopi Gets Distracted By the Unknown on ‘The View’

The award-winning morning talk show has been the home of some wild moments. From explosive conversations to shocking revelations, The View has hosted some terrifying things that have left the co-hosts speechless. But there was yet another incident that rendered Whoopi fearful of the unknown.

While starting the Hot Topic conversation about Donald Trump and the Qatari airplane he was planning to accept, the moderator was taken by a mysterious force that caused her to lose focus on her fellow panelists. While the others continued to gab, Whoopi pondered, “What was that?”

Whoopi allowed the others to continue their conversation as she accepted that no matter what she saw or felt, it didn’t matter. The show must go on. A master of performance, Whoopi has been notorious for keeping her composure, unless she’s distracted by otherworldly forces.

While her co-hosts, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines, and Alyssa Farrah Griffin don’t have the same fears as Whoopi, they’ve come to allow Whoopi to have her moment. But when will Whoopi convince executive producer Brian Teta to bring in someone to investigate?

Whoopi Goldbert Has Been Haunted For Years

The reason why we are so invested in Whoopi’s investment in her haunted set is because this was not the first time she’s experienced spookiness occurring in the middle of the show. Her fascination with the world beyond seemingly began in 2023 when a conversation about an investigation into alien bodies prompted her to approach the large screen, revealing, “It’s not a puppet,” Goldberg determined. “It doesn’t seem to be. I mean, it’s definitely dead.” A year later, she declared that aliens have been walking among us.

When she’s not thinking about aliens, the noises and auras inside The View studio have captivated her. In January 2024, Whoopi was startled by an echoed sound that Sara Haines asked, “God, is that you?” While the other ladies seemed to laugh off the occurrence, Whoopi kept things serious as she tried to collect herself.

The irony of the moment is that it came only a day after a noise that accompanied a conversation about “hoes.” By October 2024, just a day shy of Halloween, The View was once again visited by a foreboding thump. At that time, Joy Behar joked that the sound could be related to Arnold Schwarzenegger, who they had previously been talking about.

As she said, earning audience laughter, “It’s Schwarzenegger, he’s back!” At this point, it’s safe to say that loyal View fans tune in to witness Whoopi’s ghostly concerns just as much as they are eager to hear the ladies’ thoughts on the world.

Could the mysterious entities causing havoc at The View simply be someone playing a prank on Whoopi? At this point, it would be the best recurring gag on daytime TV.
