The so-called “Phillies Karen” was misidentified by social media detectives, so fans oughta stop directing their anger towards an innocent person.

For those who missed it, “Phillies Karen” is the nickname assigned to an angry Philadelphia Phillies fan who went viral for the wrong reasons during last night’s road game against the Miami Marlins.
Harrison Bader crushed a home run into the left field seats in the top half of the fourth inning, and NBC Sports Philadelphia cameras caught a male Phillies fan obtaining the ball and handing it to his son.
But in a wild scene, a female Phillies fan berated the man, demanding he hand her the ball. The confused father complied, and his son was understandably devastated:
Make Her Famous: Full blown Karen claims the ball is hers, after a Dad finally gets a home run ball for his Phillies fan son on his birthday, and demands the ball be given to her! The dad, after the Karen went all out bitch mode, gave her the ball. Would you have done the same? pic.twitter.com/DklPMe3Mag

Unfortunately, fans are directing their rage toward a completely innocent New Jersey woman named Lauren Merlino Shoemaker. On her Facebook account, Shoemaker (who looks nothing like the Phillies Karen, by the way) clarified that she wasn’t even at the Phillies game:

Phillies Karen Didn’t Get To Ruin The Young Fan’s Day
As much as Phillies Karen tried, she did not get away with spoiling the young fan’s special day at the ballpark. After witnessing the incident, the Marlins later presented him with a prize pack and baseballs.
After the game, the Phillies brought the young boy out to meet with Harrison Bader, who provided him with an autographed baseball bat.
