Whoopi Goldberg’s haters are in danger, girl.
The Oscar-winning actress hit back at The View‘s legion of online detractors at the top of Wednesday’s live show, as the panel engaged in a Hot Topics chat about Tonight Show host host Jimmy Fallon’s recent Diary of a CEO podcast interview in which he reflected on grappling with the thought that “not everyone’s rooting for you” in life and that he wants “everyone to like” him.
Legal expert Sunny Hostin marveled at the fact that, even at the height of his career as a talk show host, the former Saturday Night Live cast member “still suffers from wanting to be liked,” she said, as she and Joy Behar discussed how internet commenters incessantly criticize the cohosts.

“Do you care, Whoopi?” Hostin asked the 69-year-old Ghost star, who quickly replied, “No. No, I don’t.”
The audience applauded as Goldberg elaborated.
“Because nobody can make me feel worse about myself than I can do to me. I don’t need you, who don’t know me, talking any crap to me, because you don’t know anything,” Goldberg said. “Why am I taking time to be hurt by something you say, when either you don’t listen, or you are choosing to take this the way you want to take it?”
Goldberg said it often “doesn’t matter what the intention was, it’s what you’ve chosen to believe” that inspires people to speak out about the show’s hosts.
“None of us start out to step in poop. But, we are in poop constantly, because people decide that you’ve said something that you didn’t say,” she added. “But now you can’t even tell what’s real or what’s not.”
Earlier, Hostin and Behar said that they don’t seek validation from haters, with Hostin estimating that it’s always a “rando on X or social media” with “some keyboard courage” coming for her in the comments.
Behar added that her critics are usually “living in their mother’s basement.”
