Ella Emhoff posted an impassioned message to social media as stepmother Kamala Harris‘ time as vice president came to an end.

Harris’ 25-year-old stepdaughter took to Instagram to share her thoughts about the last four years after Donald Trump was sworn in as the 47th President of the United States.

‘I know we are all feeling a lot of emotions today,’ the activist and fashion designer wrote in the post, along with a carousel of photos showing snippets of her life with her stepmother in the White House.

‘I’m truly feeling the full spectrum of emotions right now as I reflect on the past four years,’ she continued.

Emhoff continued, thanking everyone who has supported her over her stepmother’s time as vice president of the United States, adding that she is ‘so grateful.’

‘Some of my highest highs and lowest lows,’ she acknowledged.

She then took a swipe at naysayers, writing: ‘For those who made it harder, you suck.’

‘It’s been truly insane and a honor being the second daughter,’ Emhoff wrote, concluding the message. ‘Thank you for letting me do it in my own way.’

In November, Emhoff opened up about her mental health woes in a vulnerable post to Instagram after appearing distraught when Harris’ presidential bid came to a heartbreaking end.

She shared an image of herself to social media, showing her looking devastated as she openly cried alongside campaign staffers and family members.

The former second daughter used an image from Harris’ concession speech at Howard University as she urged her 500,000 followers to stay strong after Donald Trump’s win.

‘Truly no words,’ Emhoff captioned the post. ‘We are all gonna get through this. It just f***ing hurts like a b***h right now and that’s ok.’

The outburst prompted by a widely circulated post on X, formerly known as Twitter, which spread cruel rumors suggesting she had checked into an in-patient mental health facility.

The rumor has since been debunked as fake news with Emhoff setting the record straight for herself.

‘There’s a rumor about me having a mental breakdown and getting checked into a hospital. Not true,’ Emhoff wrote.

‘Also f*** you if you’re out there spreading that. There’s nothing wrong with showing emotion and crying. Anyone who says there is probably needs a good cry,’ she added.

‘I’ve struggled with my mental health my whole life and I’m not ashamed of it,’ Emhoff admitted.

Harris looked grim-faced as she arrived at the ceremony on Capitol Hill earlier today, failing to raise a smile as she walked in with President Joe Biden as Trump was sworn in as President of the United States.

She and former President Joe Biden were taking part in a long-held tradition of the outgoing American president attending the inauguration of the incoming president as a sign of unity and respect for the democratic process.

Harris, who was endorsed by Biden to take over as the Democratic presidential nominee in late June, campaigned against Trump for 106 days but fell short in the election.

Harris and her husband Doug Emhoff exited the Capitol building as the former vice president and second gentleman briefly shook hands with Trump before hugging the Biden’s farewell.
